Hey members of the league, Assistant Commissioner here.
Recently, the settings of the league were changed from Hardcore Simulation to Simulation. I personally disagree with this decision. Here's a couple reasons why:
1. The hitting is absolutely insane.
It seems like regardless of who you have as a player, they are able to destroy anyone who is coming down the ice. This leads to many more injuries and disruption in the flow of the gameplay.
2. Goalies seem to be weaker and/or shots are absurdly fast.
Ever since the league was changed to Simulation, there have been some insane scores in our games. (i.e. Mukluks beating nt22 12-5) In the games I have played on Simulation, the shots are insanely hard and it seems the goalies don't stop the ones they should. This leads to blowouts, and if a player has even a small advantage in the quality of players, their chance of winning is unfairly inflated, eliminating the skill aspect of the game.
3. Stickhandling is too easy.
In Hardcore Simulation, there are more stick-on-stick collisions, making it harder to dangle around defenders. In Simulation, it is way too easy to dangle without the defender even having a chance of taking the puck away or hitting you. This also affects the blowouts that I mentioned in the previous point. Personally, I feel if it is harder to dangle, it will be more rewarding when you finally score that amazing goal with a dangle that isn't ordinarily happening every game.
These are just a few of the reasons I think we should switch back to Hardcore Simulation. I feel like it is a lot closer to what Online Versus Play is like. I hope that what I have said has caused you to consider changing us back to Hardcore Simulation.
Anyways, enough rambling. It's up to you guys! Thanks for reading!
