VHA Playoffs Conference Finals Predications
WEST
Chicago Blackhawks (1) vs LA Kings (2)
The Best of the West have to offer clash in the conference finals. LA is really showing why they are one of top ranked teams during the year. Always being a solid team the Kings are now finding the w's when it counts most. The Hawks have shrugged off their 1st round issues and have made it all the way to the conf finals. The Hawks are looking great as well as the Kings, so this will be a great and tight match up. These teams are very evenly match GF and GA almost identical. LA's power play is firing well while the Hawks is good but needs improvement. Chicago have a improved PK and ranked higher than the Kings. This is great news for the Hawks as the only blemish on the season has been the specials teams. For that reason it seems the Hawks are improving their game where it lacked and will out last the Kings.
Goalie Match Up Vokun 2.46 88.73% vs Quick 2.07 92.06%
Injures
LA - Brown (19 games Concussion)
- Loktionov (10 games Concussion)
Chi - Toews (4 games)
Chicago in 6
EAST
Toronto Maple Leafs (1) vs New Jersey Devils (4)
Although the Leafs are the favorites the Devils are making a fantastic bid for the cup. NJ leads all teams with 60 goals in the post season 20 more than the Leafs. However the Leafs have the best GA with only allowing 15 goals in 9 games while NJ is 36 in 10 games. It does not seem like the defense will improve greatly in NJ as they lose another d man in Barker for the rest of the season. It appears it will be offence vs defense but if you watched the Leafs in the reg season you know they can score. Leafs will eliminate the scoring power of NJ and make short work of the Devils and will proceed to the CUP.
Goalie Match Up - Fleury 1.63 91.38 vs Crawford 3.61 85.16%
Injuries
NJ - Pomminville (13 games MCL sprain)
- Barker (46 seperated shoulder)
- Byfuglien (7 games)
Leafs in 5
Stay tuned to VSN for the next round of playoff series as soon as the conference semis are complete. Remember to follow @vhanews for updates, scores, and the latest news.
