Calgary Flames (1) vs Vancouver Canucks (4)
The top seed in the West, the Calgary Flames will can take on rivals Vancouver Canucks in their 2nd round match up. Flames started their series with Brain Elliot which was a surprise to most fans, unsure to who the starter will be in round two. Another surprise was the balanced attack of the Flames with the highest scorer being Peverly with just 5 pts. On the other side of the rink we saw former Flame and Icon Jarome Ignila put up 8pts in their first round tilt with the Wings. The Canucks will have to find a way to continue their scoring touch to have a chance against the dominate Flames. Its been a successful season for both teams who were basement dwellers for most of the last season now one of them is a series away from the Conference FINAL.

Dallas Stars (2) vs Chicago Blackhawks (3)
Dallas comes off a very hard fought series with Colorado to find themselves battling a very tough Blackhawk team. Dallas was down 3-1 in their series and found a way to fight back and win. One surprise was the lack of goaltending for the Stars. At the of the series Courchaine has taken the starting spot from Bernier for now. Although the Avalanche had a good series and found the back of the net, the Stars have not faced a team with such power like the Hawks. This will be a power on power situation. Toews, Kane, and Hossa vs Seguin, Kovalchuk and Benn. This will not be a great series for the goalies but a series where the defense could win it all for their club.
