I spoke briefly with Blackhawks on here, and he said it would be okay to set up an affiliation. So, I'm here like a creepy, smooth-talking salesman to tell you about some really cool (and free) sim sites, if you are unfamiliar with them.
What's a sim site?
First of all, it's totally free. All you need to do is sign up. You sign up, you get a team, and you act as General manager, making trades, negotiating with other GMs, and building your team into a winner. Unlike EA's GM Connected, a sim league experience allows you to take an involved approach to GMing without having to play any games, or wait for members to come online. A central person sims the games, posts the stats, results, etc. processes trades, etc. Everything (except simming) is done and posted on the main proboards site.
The GM Experience
- NHL simulation site
- get hired by an Owner to GM a team
- trade, sign, and draft players to fulfill goals.
More details: This is an NHL simulation site based around the central idea of an Owner. When you sign up, you are either approached by an NHL team owner seeking a GM, or you can apply for a specific team. If hired, you will be given general goals (some owners are more interested in earning money than winning, others might be looking to expand their fan base, or of course, others just want to win). The goals and attitude varies by team and market. If you continually fail to achieve your goals, you can be fired from your current team, and get a job on another team. Just like real life

More details: You can build your team of the best mixed martial artists of all time (UFC, Pride, Strikeforce, Bellator, Dream - everything). You can earn training points by predicting fight winners, posting, etc, and upgrade your fighters as you see fit. There are 4 weight classes, including a women's championship division. There is also a sub-section of the site where you can create yourself, and build yourself into a "Manager League Champion".
